Attention is drawn to the treatment of funds of funds, which differs in the Group FUM ranking reports and sector level reports, except for ISA group report.
At Group level the report is calculated so that group figures include those funds which predominately invest in external fund of funds (but excludes those funds investing in internal fund of funds). This avoids the issue of double counting fund assets at group level.
At sector level the report is calculated to exclude all funds which invest in external and internal fund of funds which has the effect of avoiding the double counting of fund assets and sales at the industry level.
For these reasons the industry total figure displayed at the bottom of ranking reports will not total to the sum of the groups shown.
