IMA maintains and regularly reviews a sector classification system into which IMA member firms classify their funds.

IMA also carries out an annual asset management survey which measures the size of the industry as well as looking at the main drivers and trends behinds its evolution. The survey covers the size and structure of the industry, ownership of assets managed by the industry, asset allocation, profitability, the prevalence of soft commissions and key trends.  Click here for the latest survey published in July 2007.
