Guide to Unit Trust and OEIC Funds
“The Directory” is a free,
comprehensive guide to authorised unit trust and OEIC funds
managed by members of the Investment Management Association.
Due to the increasing popularity of socially responsible and
index tracking funds, this year’s guide now highlights funds
with an ethical or passive objective across all sectors.
The
guide aims to help investors identify those funds that meet
their investment objectives by breaking them down into the
different IMA sectors, making it easier to compare funds
that invest in similar types of assets or have similar
investment objectives.
Other
details include:
-
Whether funds are income funds or growth funds;
-
Initial, annual and exit management charges where
applicable;
-
Whether PEP/ISA transfers are accepted into the fund;
-
Minimum lump sum and monthly savings levels for both
direct unit trust/OEIC investments, and through an ISA
where available;
-
How
often the fund makes an income payment to the investor.
Mona
Patel, Head of Communications said:
“The Directory is a useful information tool to help those
investors who already know how to invest and are clear
about their investment objectives and attitude to risk. It
will help them to make more informed decisions when
choosing their portfolio. The highlighting of index
tracking and socially responsible funds this year is
useful additional information which may be of help when
choosing funds.”
