THE DIRECTORY

A comprehensive list of unit trust and OEIC funds available

The IMA has updated its free guide, “The Directory – a comprehensive list of unit trusts and OEICs”. The Directory is designed to help investors compare funds with similar investment objectives or similar underlying assets. Funds are listed by sector, with useful comparative information, such as charges and minimum contribution levels for each fund.

The full list of data available is as follows:

  • initial, annual and exit charges

  • minimum lump sum and regular savings contributions

  • whether you can invest in the fund via an IS

  • if the fund is CAT standard

  • if the fund accepts PEP transfers

  • whether expenses are charged to capital

  • the frequency of income payments

  • whether the fund offers income or accumulation units

Clare Arber, Head of Communications at the IMA commented:

“Potential and existing investors often find choosing a suitable fund for their portfolio difficult due to the sheer number available. By making direct comparisons of funds within the same sectors possible, the Directory can help investors differentiate between the funds and draw up a shortlist that matches their financial objectives.”

Copies of this and other free publications from the IMA can be obtained by calling the Unit Trust Information Service on 020 8207 1361. Alternatively a Fund Directory is available from the IMA website at .  For those who require multiple copies please contact Selina Staines.
