IMA ANNOUNCES CONFERENCE

The IMA will be holding a two-day conference on the issues facing the investment management industry at Café Royal on the 4^th and 5^th of November.

The conference will be split into two distinct single day sessions, one focusing on institutional asset management and the other on the retail side of asset management operations.

The issues to be covered at the conference include:

• The creation of a single European market in financial services.      
• The future of corporate governance post Enron and WorldCom.
• The changing relationship between Executive and Non-Executive Directors and shareholders.
• The relationship between Trustee’s and Fund Managers.
• The challenges of the Myners’ and Sandler reports for both sides of the industry.
• How the industry can help educate consumers in financial services.

An impressive line up of speakers includes:

Howard Flight MP, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury; Rt. Hon. Lord Young of Graffham; Peter Skinner MEP, Chris Huhne MEP, Theresa Villiers MEP, all leading members of the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee; Donald Brydon, Chairman AXA Investment Managers; Tony Watson, Hermes Pensions Management; Lindsay Tomlinson, CEO Barclays Global Investors; Robin Fellgett, Head of Financial Regulation, HM Treasury; George Cox, Director General of the Institute of Directors.
