WHAT YOU NEED TO TELL THE TAXMAN!
A free guide from AUTIF to help you complete the 'income' section of your 2000-2001 tax return

AUTIF’s factsheet Unit Trusts and Tax – Completing your tax return. What you need to tell the taxman 2000-2001, explains what information investors should report to the Inland Revenue and helps them to complete the ‘income’ section of their tax returns.

Many investors may not be aware that the type of investment they hold determines the nature of the information they need to report to the Inland Revenue. The Unit Trusts and Tax factsheet clearly outlines the information required by the Government for income received from UK authorised unit trusts and OEICs.

Anne McMeehan, Director of Communications at AUTIF commented:

‘Although tax returns have become far less complex in recent years, some people still find them pretty daunting. For this reason AUTIF has produced an easy to read fact sheet, which includes examples of interest and dividend vouchers, showing explicitly what information needs to be included and where it needs to go.’

AUTIF’s factsheets are available free from the Unit Trust Information Service (UTIS) on +44 (0)20 8207 1361. Literature can also be obtained on the AUTIF website.
