EFFECTIVE INVESTMENT GUIDE - Helping to tell the difference
between unit trusts, OEICs and investment trusts
With interest in equity investment increasing, it is important
that people are aware of the various options open to them.
Although unit trusts, OEICs and investment trusts are slightly
different, they all have similar savings objectives. AUTIF’s
"Effective Investment" factsheet explains the benefits and
contains a helpful table comparing the three schemes "at a
glance".
Anne McMeehan, Director of Communications, commented:
"People are becoming more aware of the need to save
for their long term security, but sadly, all too often,
they are put off making a move because they don’t understand
the options open to them. AUTIF has a range of free literature,
which helps people to understand how to get onto the first
rung of the savings ladder. And with more attention being
focused on unit and investment trusts AUTIF’s Effective
Investment factsheet clearly explains their similarities
and their differences."
Readers can call the Unit Trust Information Service on +44 (0)20
8207 1361 (which is manned 24 hours a day) for their free
copies. The factsheets and guides can also be viewed on the
AUTIF website at www.investmentuk.org
