SPECIALIST ISA TRAINING FOR ADVISERS FROM AUTIF

There is considerable concern that financial advisers may be insufficiently prepared to recommend ISAs to their clients by 5th April 1999. For those advisers who are still unsure of the main features and essential technical details of ISAs, a training course has been designed specifically for them by AUTIF.

The ISA training for customer service and administration staff, which AUTIF developed earlier this year has already been well-received by members and financial advisers. This is available either as an off-the-shelf package or as an open enrolment course. To meet the needs of the financial adviser market in particular, AUTIF has produced a shortened version, highlighting the main features of ISAs from a financial adviser’s perspective.

Victoria Nye, Director of Training and Education at AUTIF, commented:

"The quality of training and competence amongst sales forces and IFAs, on whom this industry depends, is central not just to the success of ISAs, but to our industry as a whole. This specialist training is a pragmatic CPD tool will familiarise advisers with the main features of the ISA product."

The adviser training material is described as a tool for advisers, broker consultants, in-house training managers. The ready made training package consists of presentation slides, a trainers’ manual and test questions. Anyone who wishes to go into the detail in administering ISAs, should not rely on the adviser package, but use the more detailed technical package and open courses for administration staff.
