Fraud & Financial CrimeFinancial crime is something that affects us all; be it fraud, laundering the proceeds of people trafficking, drug trafficking and other crimes or the financing of terrorism. It is crucial that we make it as difficult as possible for criminals and terrorists to use the financial system to move or store their funds and other assets or commit fraud. For that reason, all financial institutions (and even some non-financial businesses) are required by law to obtain and keep evidence of the identity of their customers.
There are a number of links on this page that will take you to places on the internet where you can find advice and assistance in relation to protecting yourself against fraud. We have also included links to some materials that explain the rationale behind the obligations placed on financial institutions and forewarn you of the sort of things you may be asked to provide as evidence of your identity.
