Fund Directory
The Directory is a comprehensive reference guide to all UK authorised funds open to retail investors; some offshore funds are also included in the Absolute Return sector. Please note that the Directory excludes all private and institutional funds with a minimum investment of over £50,000. Funds which are not subject to IMA sector monitoring are also excluded, with the exception of the Absolute Return sector. The search facility enables you to sort funds according to different criteria as below.
Funds are classified into sectors to help make it easier to compare similar funds. For further information on fund classification you can read our Sector Definitions and view the Sector Classification Chart.
You can also search according to Total Expense Ratio (TER), which gives a clear picture of the total annual fund costs.
The Absolute Return sector was introduced in May 2008. It is the only IMA sector which includes both UK domiciled and overseas domiciled funds. Funds are checked on entering the sector but not monitored subsequently by IMA; this will be subject to review in 2009. Performance comparisons are currently inappropriate. The peer group of funds can however be further analysed for comparisons of, for example, charges, timeframe for delivery of returns and strategy.
Important:This search facility is not intended to provide financial advice. You may wish to consult an Independent Financial Adviser Over the years a number of unit trusts have merged or undergone name changes. This sometimes makes it difficult to track them down. If you are unable to trace a fund IMA may be able to help you. Please call +44 (0)20 7831 0898 and we will try to assist you.
WarningBefore buying units or shares in an investment fund, it is important that you read and understand the following: Cash fund yields will fluctuate with changes in interest rates. The value of any investment may also be adversely affected if any of the institutions with which cash is deposited suffer insolvency or other financial difficulties. Equity and bond funds are long term investments and are not suitable for money you may need at short notice. The price of units and shares and income from them may go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested. Please note that past performance is not a guide to future performance. Tax assumptions may be subject to future statutory change and the value of tax savings and eligibility to invest will depend on individual circumstances.
